There is a certain quantity requirement for the filling of lubricating grease. A good lubricant distribution is that when the rolling bearing is running, there is a layer of lubricant distribution on the surface of the bearing roller and raceway, forming a certain lubricant circulation flow. In this case, the rolling element and the raceway are not filled with grease. This is consistent with the common sense seen in daily life. When the rolling bearing is installed, it may be filled with grease. When the grease is properly filled, it is found that the grease inside the rolling bearing will be squeezed out after running for a period of time. Only a layer of grease is distributed on the surface of the rolling bearing. It can be seen that the lubricating grease distributed between rolling elements will be "squeezed" during the operation of rolling bearings. This kind of "extrusion" is only a rough adjective, but it can be seen from this process that when the rolling bearing is running, the rolling element has a certain stirring effect on the lubricating grease. If the lubricating grease is always filled in the rolling bearing, this stirring also causes the increase of the running resistance torque of the rolling bearing, thus causing the rolling bearing to heat up.
The basic requirements for the filling of lubricating grease for rolling bearings are: when the rolling bearing is lubricated for the first time, the interior of the rolling bearing shall be fully filled, and the space in the rolling bearing room excluding the rolling bearing shall be filled with 30% - 50% lubricating grease.
After the rolling bearing is put into operation, it is necessary to ensure the normal grease discharge path of the rolling bearing. When there is too much grease inside the rolling bearing, the excess grease will be discharged with the operation of the rolling bearing. When replenishing lubrication, the appropriate amount is 0.5% D * B. Where D is the outer diameter of the rolling bearing and B is the width of the rolling bearing. No matter the initial lubrication or supplementary lubrication, it is recommended not to exceed the above amount, otherwise it may cause excessive lubrication of rolling bearings.
