Many bearings need to work in high temperature environments, but only a few lubricants can withstand high temperatures. In order to better adapt to the high temperature application environment, people have developed a dry lubrication solution for the bearing system, which has great potential for application in metal cutting machine tools. When the temperature of the bearing working environment reaches 200-350℃, the lubricating grease of the bearing will deteriorate, causing the bearing to fail prematurely. Therefore, it is recommended to use dry lubricants when the bearing speed is low and the working environment temperature is high. In a high temperature environment, the properties of dry lubricants will not change, can withstand high loads, and have good high temperature resistance, so the bearings are almost maintenance-free. Therefore, dry-lubricated bearings have great application potential in the field of metal cutting processing. Among them, a rolling plate cooling bed with 5000 bearings usually used in plate rolling equipment is a good application example. When the cooling bed is working, it is often stopped due to excessively high temperatures, and it is very difficult to replenish lubricating materials for the bearings in the conveyor belt.

In specific applications, dry lubrication not only guarantees high bearing performance, but also provides good high temperature resistance. In addition, dry lubricating materials have very low starting torque and friction torque in the entire operating temperature range. In addition, there is no need to limit the minimum speed in dry-lubricated bearings, because its running performance at very low speeds is also excellent. Those bearings that use grease or lubricating oil are the opposite. Their lubricating medium will have the so-called water drift effect. Therefore, they must have a specified rated speed. Only within the rated speed range can the ideal lubrication effect be achieved.

From the perspective of ecological development, dry lubrication avoids the problem of grease leakage. In a high-temperature environment, the viscosity of lubricating grease decreases, increasing the risk of leakage. In addition, in addition to the pollution discharge cost of lubricating grease, the supplementary addition of lubricating grease is also a major factor in increasing costs. From the perspective of safety technology, high temperature is a dangerous production environment. These ecological environmental protection and safety technology risks can all be avoided with dry lubrication solutions, because bearings can achieve lifetime lubrication with minimal consumption of lubricating materials.

In many applications, dry lubrication is the ideal choice to solve the problem: because it can withstand very high operating temperatures, it can often run at very low speeds. For applications where traditional bearings lubricated with lubricating oil or grease need to be replaced every few weeks, dry-lubricated bearings can run continuously for a long time and maintain low-speed operation without leakage, even at a temperature of 350°C.
